vertigo
During the creation of this work, I had recurrent vertigo. This makes me feel as though I am spinning or moving, or that the world is revolving around me whilst I am stationary. My assumption of a firm surface underfoot no longer felt true.
Visual stimuli dominate the human senses. Space perception provides cues, such as depth and distance that are important for movement and orientation in the environment. Disrupting the optical contact in the spatial layout, relocating surface relative to the objects disorients and changes things.
This project is a result of my exploring the impacts of space perception stability shifts in images, and how this may also change our visual perception of things.
